Our last night in Banff and it decides to rain on us, so I gave up any thoughts of enjoying a nice sunset and off we went, back to our lodge in Lake Louise. We were driving along the Trans Canada Highway when I happened to look at my side mirror and noticed a rainbow. No time to find the perfect composition, but I just had to capture the moment, and bonus, there were two instead of just one. Such a beautiful sight.

I LOVE the outdoors, and the mountains are my happy place. Many years ago, we visited the Canadian Rockies, and we instantly fell in love with what the mountains have to offer, from breathtaking scenery to countless wildlife opportunities. I remember traveling through a small town in British Columbia, Radium Hot Springs, where the sign that welcomes you to town says, “Mountains bring peace to the people.”. That quote and John Muir’s quote, “The mountains are calling and I must go” have resonated with me ever since. Whether it's shooting landscapes or wildlife, I find such a sense of peace and solitude just being there in the moment. Nourishment for the soul....a reminder for me that life is good.
